Gandhi Smriti also was known as Birla House or Birla Bhavan, is a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. In starting this was the house of the Indian business tycoons, this was built up by Ghanshyamdas Birla in 1928. The great leader's Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel were the frequent guests of Birla, and when they come to Delhi they used to live in this house, he also spent the last time of his life here as he was assassinated here on 30 January 1948.
As everyone knows Mahatma Gandhi is the most popular leader of India around the world. His life was full of conflict as he spent his whole life in fighting peacefully for others right, in the initial days of his life he fought for the right of black people in South Africa, after coming to India he started fighting for Indians freedom and struggled till India got freedom. After Freedom of India, he spent the most days of his life happily in this house until he died. This shows the importance of this house itself.
